Well, here it is, my first blog post. How exciting! Weirdly, I don't have any fears about this. I have already made the decision that I will simply post whenever I feel I have a thought to share that might be able to help someone. No pressure upon me. Bless.

Oh, how rude of me, you don't even know my name! Well, you can just call me The Mrs. I have a long history of sharing every aspect of my life online and I have decided that I will never do that again. "Why's that?" you ask. To tell the truth, I spent 15 years of my life making posts that gave the illusion that my life was utterly perfect. Even when I was in the trenches of the worst times of my life, I still made posts on every form of social media showing how I was handling everything with a peppy, "Everything's perfect here!" attitude. About a year and a half ago I deleted every form of social media. My phone got quiet, I didn't know what to do with myself and I actually didn't bother taking nearly as many pictures. People stopped reaching out because I wasn't on social media so I wouldn't see the things that everyone else was gossiping about. It was odd. Even now, with so many people, businesses and even churches relying on social media to reach out to people, I do miss out on some things. But the peace that comes with not having social media, not having the societal pressure of showing how perfect and wonderful life is, even when it's not, is a good trade off in my book. Oh! And having to think of the perfect thing to post that shows how much you love and miss someone that has passed away! What is that? Why, in the midst of our grief are we expected to post something thoughtful about a person that has passed away? Let me grieve in peace! "No one is forcing you to post about your grief." Yes, one is expected to post about their grief. Think about it, when you know that someone in the neighborhood has passed on and one of their family members doesn't post about it, you start thinking, "Did they even care about that person?" Honestly, the worst part of our lives is not anybody's business but so many people, Christians included, look at it as an opportunity to share. Some of us don't want to share. Some of us want to just do life without thinking, "Gee, I haven't posted about this private moment yet, I should do that."

Oh goodness, I have gone on haven't I? To be honest, that's what you might end up getting from me, random rants in the middle of a post. I'm not fully sure what this blog is going to end up looking like but I'm excited to get into it!

See you later!
